This kit contains all the required components from a specially designed swivel cone to built in floats. Features include … Please note: We are happy to review your existing Sea Anchor and rigging, and make recommendations on how you can get the most out of your Coppins Sea Anchor or drogue. Engineering / Innovation Notes: A self-contained system ready to deploy when you need it, unlike other brands that need to be rigged. This would be by far the most compact, complete and failsafe deployment system on the market to date. The kit is tried, tested and assembled in our factory. There is no need to purchase anything else; the kit is ready to deploy. At first it was a case of understanding the hydrodynamics of water and the currents and forces that are created, then designing and shaping the Para Anchor so the hydrodynamics would work with the Para Anchor to create maximum drag. It was not just a case of holding volumes of water to create drag, it was the shaping of the Para Anchor to direct water movement creating pressure in front of the Para Anchor and eddies on the back side of the Para Anchor. Much like an aeroplane wing creates maximum lift, the Stormfighter Para Anchor creates maximum drag. The understanding of hydrodynamics made a more effective Para Anchor. It also made it cost efficient, reducing the total weight, more user friendly and eliminated pressure points to make an overall stronger product. All fabrics have been especially designed and tested to meet the high loading and demands of a Para Anchor in the ultimate storm. Regular trials are carried out to make sure the STORMFIGHTER is the best and strongest performing Para Anchor on the worldwide market. On the open sea – the Coppins StormFighter has already been through the ultimate storm of very steep approximately 100ft breaking waves, winds of between 130 and 140 knots, and gusting to 154 knots. See Charlie Blanchet and Des McGrath's survival story "To the storm and back" in our SOS section. (as printed in 'Boating New Zealand' November 2001.) Accessories: Coppins Sea Anchors are supplied fully equipped, thoroughly tested and ready for use. Additionally, we carry a full range of accessories for use with Sea Anchors and Drogues. Important!!!! Familiarise yourself with the packing of StormFighter before deployment. Deploy in calmer seas before you really need it. Practice makes perfect…you may not get a second chance. |
