Engineering / Innovation Notes: It was not just a case of creating a parachute like shape that would somehow reduce drift, it was a case of understanding the hydrodynamics to design the perfect shape that would create maximum drag. This is the main advantage of the Limpet over other brands. Because it is compact and user-friendly it can be as important to a fisherman as a rod and reel! The Limpet can make seemingly impossible fishing conditions – fishable! It is manufactured to Coppins very high safety and engineering standards from modern weather resistant synthetics.

At first it was a case of understanding the hydrodynamics of water and the currents and forces that are created, then designing and shaping the Para Anchor so the hydrodynamics would work with the Para Anchor to create maximum drag.

It was not just a case of holding volumes of water to create drag, it was the shaping of the Para Anchor to direct water movement creating pressure in front of the Para Anchor and eddies on the back side of the Para Anchor. Much like an aeroplane wing creates maximum lift, the Limpet Para Anchor creates maximum drag.

The understanding of hydrodynamics made a more effective Para Anchor. It also made it cost efficient, reducing the total weight, more user friendly and eliminated pressure points to make an overall stronger product.
